Community & Vocational

Community and Vocational Service looks to make a difference in the local community by providing funds and members’ time to help improve the lives of people across all age ranges and circumstances.

Youth Projects – 

 Pictionaries are presented to all 3 year pupils in 9 local primary school pupils to foster interest in reading .

We are pleased to organise primary schools’ rounders and football competitions.

The Club sponsors and pays for 2 candidates from Chew Valley School to attend the weeklong Rotary Youth Leadership course – a life changing experience for the graduates.

Community Projects

Volunteering to control car parking at local events saving the organisers real money.

The Archie project where local primary school pupils are trained to visit care homes and interface with the elderly – a stimulating experience for all.

We trawl the local villages for candidates and each year present our Community Award to someone or some group who have given great service to their own community.

We have led the fundraising for many local charities and individuals with specific needs.

THE OVERALL MOTO OF ROTARY IS  ‘’ SERVICE ABOVE SELF’’ - WE DO NOT SEEK REWARD; THE REWARD IS IN THE SERVICE.
