From One Village to Another: Solar Project Completed

PENSFORD — An inspiring project linking our local community with a village in India has reached successful completion.

Following a visit earlier this year by Pensford Postmaster Umang Patel and his son, Darsh, a joint initiative was launched to support Andh Apang Vikas Mandal (AAVM), a school and shelter for blind and disabled children in Mogri, Gujarat.

Thanks to generous funding and swift support from Chelwood Bridge Rotary Club and the Pensford, Publow and The Stanton Community Trust (PPSCT), a 14.56 kW solar panel system is now fully operational at the facility.

Key Project Outcomes

*Direct monthly savings: The solar system is expected to reduce energy costs by approximately £300 per month.

*Better care and education: 100% of these ongoing savings will be redirected into improving healthcare, education and daily support for the children.

*Long-term sustainability: With a payback period of just over three years, the solar array will provide clean, green energy for decades to come.

This initiative demonstrates the incredible global impact that local village organisations can achieve when they work together, turning community support in Pensford into a lasting benefit for children thousands of miles away.
