Pudsey Drops in On Redditch…
It was a busy weekend for Pudsey Bear as he dropped in to support Redditch Kingfisher Rotary fundraise for BBC Children in Need.
Fundraising was the name of the game and the people of Redditch got into the spirit of it all. Commuters were surprised as Pudsey wished them well on their train journey and of course, he was there to welcome them back home again on Friday.
Children and parents alike were delighted to meet Pudsey in the Kingfisher Shopping Centre on Saturday. To put the ‘fun’ into fundraising children were invited to ‘Paint Some Pants for Pudsey’. Over 40 pairs of pants were creatively painted by children as young as four years old with two being chosen as best designs of the day, receiving a Pudsey Bear toy as a memento.
Club President Liz Webber said “the generosity of people is amazing and over the two days, we have raised £1000 to support Children in Need right here in Redditch. We were humbled to meet a local resident on Saturday who had herself received support from BBC Children in Need as a child. That positive experience stays with a person and their family, we are pleased to have been able to give our time to support this national grant funding charity delivering at a local level”.
