Last night we had a great treat. Our very own Peter White spoke to us about Walking the Camino.
The Camino- The Way of St James, is a long walk which walkers usually do
in parts as it travels through France, Spain and Portugal,
At the start of walking people get a Compostela on which they get pilgrim passport stamps. This is to prove they have completed the trek. It can be split in many ways and may take several years to complete.
People take it on for several reasons, it may be because
Religious devotion
Friendship
Challenge
Escape
Recovery
A like journey.
Peter also talked about the different types of accommodation, kit, whether to carry all of it or send on each day.
We have to admire Peter's commitment to complete the walk and his fitness in doing so.
Well done Peter and thank you for telling us all about it.
