Prostate Cycle Ride September 26
Cycle Ride
The Club were privilaged to have the support and attendance of our District Governor (Annette Ramsden) for the start of the ride and for the Third Year, the Club joined forces with a local Cycling group and friends to raise funds for Prostate Cancer Research. Many of you will know that Prostate Cancer affects as much as one in six men generally in older age.
The day of the ride started with a light shower and shortly after the start at Hambleton, this increased to a heavy rain. The Cyclists were not to be put off and half way to Scorton we were blessed with dry but cloudy weather for the rest of the trip. On arrival at the Barn at Scorton we were again greated by our DG Annette who joined us for breakfast and a chat.
The return ride to Hambleton was again plagued with showers, but all reurned home with a light heart although many were soaked through to the skin !
The response from Club members and cycling friends has again been exceptional and we have currently raised more than £1,000 for Prostate Cancer Research with more donations still coming in. This report will be updated when the final figure is calculated.
