Cookham Bridge Rotary Club have organised 3 concerts utilising the talents of the London Welsh Male Voice Choir, in 2013, 2015 and 2017. All have been for the benefit of local day centre - Elizabeth House.
Elizabeth House sits at the centre of Cookham occupying what was once the police station. The centre provides a club and daily meals for the over '60s as well as a gallery for local artists.
The venue for the last concert was Taplow Court, a mid-19th century mansion set high above the Thames near Maidenhead; it is the home of SGI-UK, a lay Buddhist society who made the venue available for the concert for no cost. Generous support was also received from the Shanly Foundation.
Altogether the three concerts raised over £21,000 for the Charity.
