We get to see many things at Hungerford Repair Café, but we were
surprised when a young Jedi knight came in with a troublesome
lightsaber. Our Force expert, Jeremy Wyatt soon had the lightsaber
working as shown, so the young knight was able to return home to
complete her mission.
On a more serious note, this does show that
our expert fixers can turn their hands to a wide range of technical
problems. Another problem was a toddler’s buggy with a failed brake.
Fortunately, we were able to make the buggy safe while waiting for a new
part. Other items repaired were a digital photo frame, leather gloves, a
glass angel, a shooting stick and several toasters, vacuum cleaners and
items of clothing. We estimate that this one event lasting just 2.5
hours has saved items weighing about 90 Kg from being sent to landfill
or recycling.
If you have something that needs fixing, or are
just curious, come along to the next Hungerford Repair Café on 15th
