Over 80 runners
turned out
for this year's Santa's Fun Run organised by Hungerford Rotary
club to raise
funds for both International and local Charities. After a Zumba
warm up, led by
Connor Stephenson from Herongate the runners left from the John
O'Gaunt school
and made their way along Priory road, down the High Street and
along the canal
tow path where they continued onto the common and back to the
start. There were
lots of families entering, often complete with babies in all
terrain buggies
and the family dog. All those taking part were seasonally clad
in full Santa
outfits which made quite a show on Hungerford High street. Many of the runners and walkers were
sponsored to
raise funds for their own charities. The prizes were presented
by Hungerford's Mayor Helen
Simpson to the winner Andrew Davy, the second place George
Styles and the third place Wilf
Waldon. With such a successful event this year I am sure that the 2019 Santa Fun Run will be even bigger and better
.
