This year's outing of The Bruce Canal Boat, crewed and captained by members of Hungerford Rotary Club along with help from their family and friends, was a great success "First Lord of the Admiralty" David Heather took over the organisation of the Boat Week from Graeme and mustered crews and captains for the 7 days of outings. Every September the club hire the specially adapted boat from The Bruce Trust to provide a special day out for some of the disadvantaged members of the local community. This year they included members from various organisations and care homes including the Tuesday Club, Walnut Close, Speakability, Care UK Newbury, Hungerford Care Home, Hungerford Resource Centre, and Silver Circle. The guests and carers all agreed that it was very enjoyable to spend a day relaxing on the Kennet and Avon canal. Many thanks to Alan and Norman for the excellent photographs. We are looking forward to another week on the barge in 2019.
