Hungerford Rotary Club's annual event "Bridge at the Croft" was a record breaking success this year raising £1,000.00 for Rotary charities including Speakability, a Newbury group formed to help stroke victims and Shelterboxs which are sent to help victims in the event of natural disasters in the world.
There were 60 enthusiastic card players who enjoyed an afternoon concentrating on their favourite game and enjoying the sandwiches and cakes provided by Rotary families and friends and generous local businesses.
The winning team was led by Bill Brown from Kintbury with a score of over 3,000. The Rotary Trophy was presented by club President Norman Sinclair-Baines who is pictured with Bill Brown and chief organiser Sheila Jay.
