District Conference in Windsor.
9 Rotarians from Hungerford joined over 700 club members and guests from district 1090 for a day and an evening of Fellowship. District Governor Fred King opened the conference on the Friday evening and introduced, among others, RI President’s representative, Ronald Mabry from Front Royal, Virginia, USA, who gave a very entertaining and inspirational speech. This was followed by an excellent meal and good wines. The entertainment was provided by the very energetic Redroofs Theatre School. Saturday was a day in the conference hall where there were over 20 short but interesting presentations which showed the work of Rotary around the district and internationally. One the most inspirational were two ladies from, The Coxless Crew, who along with 4 other made the first crossing of the Pacific ocean on a rowing boat. All 29 foot of it! Throughout the day there were a number of great ideas which I am sure members will be taking back to implement in their own clubs. A very enjoyable 24 hours.
