An excellent afternoon of Bridge
which
raised £670 for good causes.
All thanks to Sheila Jay and Amanda May for arranging “Bridge at the Croft” on behalf of Hungerford Rotary club. The play started and a hushed concentration took over the Croft Hall on Friday as 44 players sat down to compete for the Hungerford Rotary Club Bridge Trophy. Back in the kitchen junior vice president Fiona and vice presidents wife, Jacqui busily made tea and laid out the amazing variety of cakes and sandwiches prepared by Rotarians and their partners. They didn’t last for long as the players were soon out of their seats and sampling all the delicious food on offer. President Bruce arranged the raffle and collected a substantial amount of money for the Charity account with James Brown helping with the teas and keeping an eye on the funds. The trophy was eventually won by Rotarian Hugh Pihlens, but as this now promises to be an annual event he will have to defend his title on 18th November 2016.
