Several members of Hungerford Rotary Club helped to build the 20 foot high beacon on Wed 30 May, and assisted with car parking and marshalling on the evening of the lighting 4 Jun.
The beacon was sited in Folly Farm Dog Leg field (just north of Eddington), and the adjacent beacon at Comber Gibbet was clearly visible.
About 250 spectators witnessed the lighting - many of whom had enjoyed a picnic through the evening.
The event was a fitting climax to a splendid weekend of Jubilee Celebrations in Hungerford.
