The mission of our International committee is to enable Rotarians to advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace through the improvement of health, the support of education, and the alleviation of poverty
We support a range of programmes and activities designed to reach out to people in need throughout the world.
In many countries, thousands die from diseases that could be prevented by clean water, proper sanitation or medicines.
Children often become adults without having access to even a basic education. Without books, they cannot learn to read.
Rotary members in Hungerford use their skills and links to clubs in these countries to alleviate some of the main causes of death, illness and deprivation. Hungerford support includes:
Improvement of water supplies and sanitation
Reduction of child mortality
Control of diseases
Micro credit schemes for local industry
Achievement of education for all
Members are encouraged to visit other clubs on their travels abroad and forge ties between clubs.
