President at St Helens Rotary

St Helens President, Joel Wood welcomes Dave at their meeting last night (22.10.24)

Last night, St Helens Rotary welcomed Dave Roberts, who reflected on our 20th Beer Festival success at their meeting.

He shared some insights into what has become one of the most significant and beloved events in Rainhill—the Rainhill Rotary Beer Festival.

Fresh off the back of the latest festival, Dave was still winding down from what has clearly grown into a massive annual undertaking for the local community.

The Beer Festival has steadily evolved from a simple community event into one of the largest projects the Rotary club has ever undertaken. This year’s event was, once again, an outstanding success, a testament to the dedication and effort of everyone involved. It has now reached a scale that sees over 100 volunteers contributing to make the event run smoothly.

It’s hard to believe that what started as a smaller-scale celebration of good beer and good company has transformed into a key highlight of the Rainhill calendar. The Festival not only attracts local residents but has gained attention from visitors across the region, who flock to experience the wide range of craft beers, ales, gin and prosecco on offer.

The spirit of volunteerism that drives Rainhill Rotary is truly inspiring. Without the dedication and hard work of these volunteers, the Beer Festival wouldn’t be the same. The event has not only grown in size but has also deepened its impact on the local community, raising funds for various charitable causes while bringing people together in a joyful and vibrant atmosphere.

Despite these challenges, the festival continues to be a resounding success each year, a testament to the leadership of Rainhill Rotary and the unwavering support of the local community.

Here’s to another successful Beer Festival and many more to come … cheers!
