Bowls Cup away win against Frodsham
PE Ian, in his first official role, sees win against Frodsham & Helsby RC.
The Rainhill club was well represented at the annual bowls challenge versus Frodsham & Helsby Rotary club. With the artificial "carpet" greens running as true as ever, in glorious sunshine the challenge of the home club was swiftly swept aside resulting a sudden death "one end" final between Ally & Arnie (Alastair and Bill) against The Raves (Ray and Dave Robbo).
A brilliant wood by Bill with his last bowl won the match, although with two pairs from Rainhill in the final, the trophy had already been retained.
The spoils went to President elect Ian, with the "Not stolen from Rainhill" bell remaining in the Frodsham trophy cabinet.
Not sure what Dame Laura had to say ............
The Fish and chip supper was most welcome afterwards in the club house.
President Frank of Frodsham through down the gauntlet for later in the Rotary calendar with his threat to attend our Burns or St.Patrick's evening in Rainhill .....we will await to see if this Celtic challenge is followed through.
