SEA, CLIFFS & IRONSTONE(Sunday 11 September, 2011 )This year the theme is Sea, Cliffs and Ironstone with the walks passing the remains of some of the mines in our area. Our nominated Rotary charity is the Redcar Lifeboat. The walk starts at the Conservative Club, Dundas Street East (opposite the old Zetland Hotel) in Saltburn between 9.30 and 11am. There are 2 routes, the Family Walk of 7 miles along the cliff path to Cattersty then back via Hunley Hall and Warsett Hill. The Long Walk of 14 miles for the dedicated walkers goes along the cliff path to Skinningrove then back to Slapewath and then on to Saltburn, passing the remains of Lumpsey and North Skelton mines amongst others.
We give you a bottle of water at a check point and a Certificate of Appreciation at the end. |
