Rotary Foundation
As with all Rotary clubs the work of Ellesmere Rotary is focussed on the needs and concerns of our local community and also the international community. To help focus on some of the world’s most critical and widespread humanitarian needs Rotary has 7 areas of focus:
ROTARY FOUNDATION GLOBAL GRANTS AND THE AREAS OF FOCUS
Through capitation fees, gifts, donations, bequethals etc. the Rotary Foundation is able to invest contributions on a three year investment cycle which then makes monies available by way of grants. All Rotary clubs are eligible to apply for global grants from The Rotary Foundation to support sustainable activities with high-impact outcomes in one or more of the areas of focus. These activities may include humanitarian projects, scholarships, and vocational training teams. Prospective global grant-funded projects would include a plan for monitoring and evaluation using the measures established by the Foundation for each area. Each year funds for Rotary Foundation grants are also made avaliable for distribution by Rotary districts.
For international projects
Once a project is identified Rotary locally will partner with Rotary clubs in the host country to undertake the project. We also have the opportunity to partner with approved agencies to provide specialist input in the Areas of Focus.
