A community planting day has been organised by Ponteland Community Volunteers in conjunction with CPRE Northumberland and Rotary Ponteland along Rotary Way. Working in small teams the plan is to plant 4000 native daffoldil bulbs to compliment new trees and hedging that will be planted in early November along the fenceline adjacent to the new cycleway and extend to the north side of Rotary Way. Funding for the project has been provided by Northumberland County Council and Ponteland Town Council.
