DUCK RACE 2026

Duck Race 2026

We are pleased to announce that despite the closure of Rotary Ponteland Duck Race 2026 will go ahead on as usual this year.

Our ducks have been placed in the care of The Evening Chronicle Sunshine Fund. The Sunshine Fund is a local North East charity that provides specialist and adapted equipment to children aged 0-19 living with disabilities, additional needs, chronic and terminal illness. The types of equipment they can fund are not available through statutory services like the Local Authority or NHS; yet they are vital to the daily life of our Sunshine kids. These specific pieces of equipment enrich quality of life for not only the children, but their wider families and communities. The charity is immensely proud to make a difference to the lives of local disabled children and their families through funding life-changing, specialist and adapted equipment; however, their support and service goes far beyond this.

We will be announcing more information soon about buying ducks, business boats and what to expect on the day.

If you are a local business and would like to get involved i.e. taking a stall or partnering on the event, please email quack@thesunshinefund.org.uk
