The Senlac St Leonards Rotary Club’s 30th Classic Car show took place on Sunday 15th June at Rye Rugby Club, and what a day it was. A perfect day brought out hundreds of visitors to see over 250 cars on display, along with 40 craft and charity stalls. Entertainment was provided by local artistes, children made the most of the rides and a Battle of Britain Spitfire made a fly past. The show was opened by the Mayor of Rye, Andy Stuart, and Rye Town Cryer, Paul Goring.
Dave Miles, the Rotary Club’s car show organiser said, “Wow, what a day. I’m absolutely delighted by how the day has gone: The show was a great success and we have broken records today. The proceeds will be shared between Rye and District Community Transport, Warming up the Homeless, Senlac St Leonards own Yellowmen, other Rotary charities and local good causes. I’d like to thank our sponsor, ‘The Mermaid Inn’ as well as all our other advertisers and Rye Rugby Club for allowing us to hold our show at their ground.”
