New President takes Up the Reins of Office


The new and first President of the merged Rotary Clubs of Senlac and St Leonards, now the Rotary Club of Senlac St Leonards, is Marcia Bryant. Marcia was presented with the Chain of Office by the outgoing Presidents of Senlac, Andy Cruttenden, and St Leonards, Bryan Hunter, at a dinner held at the Highwoods Golf Club, Bexhill, on 3 July 2024. Marcia , who works at a local dental practice, was inducted into the Rotary Club of Senlac on 4 January 2017. She joined her father, Pat Connor, in the club to make the first father/daughter membership since the club was formed. She is married to David and has two children,

Bryan Hunter, retiring President of St Leonards, said, “It’s been an honour and privilege to be the President of St Leonards during such turbulent times. I would like to wish Maria all the very best for the coming year.” Andy Cruttenden also wished Marcia well saying, “Being President this year has been an honour and privilege and I  have no regrets; it’s been a very busy year and as a club we have achieved so much as with the other years before and that’s all down to all the members. Having such a successful car show at the end of the year really put the icing on the cake. I would like to thank Marcia for her help and nudging me in the right direction especially at the beginning of the year. And I can’t think of anyone better to take over as President, and I’m looking forward to the year ahead, and I will give her my full support.”

Marcia replied, “ This year is going to be an important one for us all as two clubs become one. I am honoured to be elected as President to serve the Rotary Club of SenlacStLeonards. May I take the opportunity to to thank everyone for encouraging me over thr the last year; I hope I serve you well in the coming year.”

Therese Mahindrakar is the new President Elect and will be the club’s President for 2025 to 2026.
