New Honorary Yellowman

Many Rotarians in the District will be aware of the fantastic work done by Senlac Rotary’s Yellowmen in the Pokot region of north-west Kenya. Money is always needed for the projects being undertaken and recently the Yellowmen have been awarded grants to help with equipping a new hospital build and the provisions of a number of essential services. Obtaining grants is a tortuous path and the Yellowmen enlisted the help of former District Governor and District Foundation Chair, Ray Dixon. At the club’s meeting on 16 November Ray was presented with his own Yellowmen t-shirt and was awarded honorary Yellowmen status. President Roger Young said, “The Yellowmen are so grateful for Ray’s great input into obtaining the grants and he more than deserves this Yellowman t-shirt.” Ray responded, in his usual modest manner, “I’m honoured by the award but the team did all the work, I just showed the pathways to follow.”
