Rotary Club of Senlac has new President

The Rotary Club of Senlac welcomes Geoff Gander
The Rotary Club of Senlac has a new President from July 1st, the start of the Rotary Organisation’s new year. The handover from outgoing President, Fitz Fitzgraham, was conducted during a Zoom meeting without the pomp and formalities which would normally take place. The new President is Geoff Gander, who has spent his lifetime in Bexhill and has been a Rotarian for some 20 years. Geoff, who worked in the NHS for 38 years, was one of the first 14 paramedics to be trained in the local area and finished his career as a Senior Manager in charge of Patient Transport. He was previously President of Senlac Rotary in 2006 – 2007 year. On taking up the post, Geoff said he is excited about the coming year,
”It is going to be a difficult year, we have lost the two events which bring in the money we can use in the community, we can’t meet face to face and we can’t take on a lot of projects where we have close contact with others. Hopefully though, by Christmas, we will have planned, at the least, a quiz and the car show for next year. We have a large community to work with, Rother is a big area, and I want to make sure that in the coming year we reach out to all parts.”
Because of the Covid-19 restrictions Senlac Rotary meetings at the Cooden Beach Hotel are suspended but weekly meetings continue on Zoom and the club continues to undertake projects and help within the community.
