Some twenty Senlac Rotarians “raided” the Rotary Club of Bexhill’s meeting on Tuesday, 5 February 2019 at Cooden Beach Golf Club. Bexhill President, Graham Forster, welcomed their guests and in reply Senlac President, Dave Miles, introduced his members and thanked the hosts for inviting the club. After dinner Geoff Longmire of the Bexhill International committee gave brief presentations about two international projects the club were involved with. The first, in conjunction with a local Thai Rotary Club, is to support the “Takecarekids” charity in Pattaya, Thailand, thorough the Ladyboy water polo tournament; with match funding through District grants and the Ladyboys’ charity Bexhill’s donation was considerably enhanced. The second project is a follow up to the Douai to Gouda charity ride with another cycle ride across Belgium to Hamburg where they will arrive in time for the Rotary convention. The club will be seeking sponsorship in due course and it is anticipated that the money raised will go to the “End Polio Now” fund’.
At the end of business Graham Forster presented Dave Miles with a donation from the Bexhill Rotarians to the Yellowmen.
A good, companionable evening, thank you Bexhill Rotary for your hospitality and good luck in all your ventures.
