Annual Barbecue

The cool, damp, dreary evening didn’t affect the warm, friendly atmosphere created by the 40 odd (scribe’s note – not “odd “as “strange” but ”odd” as “about” or “approximately”) The sound of laughter and chatter and the clink of plastic glasses and paper plates filled the pop-up gazebos with a great sense of happiness and fellowship. Apart from the longer serving members – I choose my words carefully – we were very pleased to welcome our newer members and partners whose first club barbee this was.

The evening was only made possible by the hard work of our dedicated hosts, Pat and Judy Connor, our resident g(o)rillers. Geoff Gander and Robin Poll, who with Pat, had toiled from early morning, and our salad and cold food preparers, Judy, Lyn Poll and Sally Gander. And what a fantastic job they did! Please may we come again next year?

President Linda gave the ”Thank yous” and presented Judy, our hostess, with basket of flowers.
