Our thanks go to Rotarian Stuart Earl who invited our guest speaker this evening Mr Dan Redsull, CEO of the Sarah Lee Trust in this area. This is a charity providing end-of-life counselling and therapeutic support for cancer suffers and their families. Dan’s charity has identified Sidley as having an incidence of sufferers well above the national average, so they are currently trying to raise £120,000 to enable them up open up offices in the heart of Sidley to provide an ‘on-site’ service. They can also access a Mongolian style ‘yurt’ in nearby Powdermill Lane, which they use as a group therapy venue, which is set in a quiet and pleasing countryside location.
