Rotary Club of South Foreland Handover

On Wednesday 3^rd July club members, partners and friends attended the handover from President Peter West to incoming President Mike Taylor in Peter’s garden at Alkham.  It was not exactly a summer day as regards the weather, but it did not rain and there was an occasional glimmer of sunlight behind the clouds. 

Many thanks to Peter and Eileen for opening their home for this event and being generous hosts.  They provided an excellent barbecue with many salad dishes and a variety of puddings which everyone enjoyed.

Peter thanked all club members for their contribution to a successful time over the past four months before handing over to Mike who referred to the upcoming programme which will include the British Legion Poppy Collection and the Shuffleboard Evening at St Margaret’s Village Hall in November.  Mike also presented Vice President Peter Sherred with his jewel of office.

This informal handover meeting gave the opportunity to catch up with news from members and friends. It was good to welcome John Hunniset and his wife on the day before John takes over as President of the Rotary Club of Dover.  We wish him well.
