The Rotary Club of Calverley's annual Charity Christmas craft fair took place in Pudsey Leisure Centre on the 1st of December 2024. As usual the event was scheduled to coincide with the annual Christmas light switch on in Pudsey at 6pm.
The Rotary club of Calverley would like to thank the sports centre staff for their kind assistance in helping with the event, especially the big clean up at the end of the evening!
The event this year was the biggest so far, with 61 stalls selling a wide range of Christmas items. The craft fair started at 1pm and went on till 6:30pm, during that period over 1,000 adults visited the event, using the opportunity to get in the Christmas spirit with their children and grandchildren. They also used the opportuniry to buy beautiful and unique handmade items for Christmas or try their luck on the Rotary Tombola stall, where their were many good quality prizes which had been donated by Rotarians and their friends and family.
The event raised £1,859 for the Christmas day lunch project. This money will help the club provide hot lunches and a present on Christmas day to approximately 200 elderly and vulnerable people in the local area this year.
