Talented Young Cricketer William Ellis who plays for Pudsey Lawrence Cricket Club received a cheque for sponsorship to assist him to play in the senior second team from President Elect Carole Owczarek and Rotarian David Hastings, is a former Pudsey Lawrence Cricketer.
William has worked his way through the Junior cricket teams and last season was playing for the Under 15’s the under 18’s and the 3rd Team.
Last season (2023) he was named:
3rd Team player of the Year
Under 15’s Player of the Year
Pudsey St Lawrence, Les Thompson Junior Player of the Year (U13, U15, U18)
In the Dales Council Cricket League 2023 William was awarded the Young Player of the Year Award and Young Bowler of the Year Award
For the 3rd Team William has

28 Maidens
449 runs scored off bowling
Taking 40 wickets
Best bowling figures for the 3rd team was 6 overs 6 wickets for 10 runs

Throughout the season he had an Economy rate of 3.14
The Under 18’s won the Dennison Trophy
The Under 15’s won the League Trophy
This season (2024) William has been selected to play for the senior second team and his younger brother Oliver, who is following in his footsteps is now playing for the senior 3rd team. Both brothers continue to stun cricket fans this season with their impressive tally of wickets.
