Rotarian Carole Owczarek set herself the challenge to walk 100 miles in October 2022 for Cancer Research, supported in the challenge by her husband John and other Rotarians she walked each day in October to ensure that she surpassed the 100 miles challenge.
Carole fitted the walks in around her work as a special needs coordinator, walking locally and also using her treadmill when time restraints or the snowy October weather prevented her from getting outdoors.
Carole's aim was to raise £100 for this worthy cause. By the end of October she had raised 5 times the challenge amount raising £426.00 with a further £96.50 being added to the total from gift aid.
