He chairs HealthWORKS Newcastle, a Benwell-based health project; he is an honorary University & Hospital Chaplain and belongs to the Governing Body of the Institute of Medical Ethics and the Newcastle Hospitals Clinical Ethics Committee.

The "Walking Committee" was formed about eight years ago and our first 'real' series of walks took in the Hadrian's Wall path from Wallsend to Bowness-on-Solway. The walks were so successful that we soon lifted our sights.
