Future Champions

With support from Tees Valley Community Foundation, the Rotary Club of Cleveland have helped to support a number of young sporting future champions.

7 years ago it was decided by the Club to help young people, aged 12-16 years, who have been identified by schools, with the help of Tees Valley Sport, as having potential to go far in their particular sporting field. To date we have helped 6 "Future Champions"-a runner, a swimmer, twin judo stars, tennis player and golfer. Two are currently in the USA on sports scholarships. The help the Club has provided has been some funding to help with the costs they incur in buying equipment and travel to key national events. The Club can also help in their personal development by presenting their progress at meetings. They provide a vitality to the Club and the youngsters help out with Club activities whenever they can.
