Not quite a stroll in the Park, but we did touch it’s wall having walked the half mile from the Look Out Café along the West Cliff Promenade in Ramsgate. There was a good turnout and the sun was warm so that we had a pleasant time all in aid of Rotary’s national project to Walk a Mile to end Polio. Having touched the wall we took the same route back accompanied by a couple of daredevil pensioners (David and Liz) on their electric chariots. We also came across Malcolm and Ann enjoying the sunshine sitting on a bench overlooking the sea.
Back at the end of the Promenade we made our way to the home of President Maria who very kindly welcomed us with purple balloons and refreshing tea and ample biscuits.
I am very happy to say that with Gift Aid we shall be not far short of £1,000 following our " Mile" and there is still some more to come.
I would encourage everyone to have a look and understand what this Charity is all about. Go to rv.rotarygbi.org
