Accessibility Statement – Seaford Community Music Festival
The Seaford Community Music Festival is committed to making the event as accessible and inclusive as reasonably practicable. We aim to anticipate and remove barriers where possible and to provide clear information to help all attendees plan their visit.
Event Location and Terrain
The event will take place on the grass playing fields at Seaford Head Lower School (Steyne Road site). The site is level and step-free. As an outdoor event on natural grass, the ground may be uneven in places. Given the summer timing (18th July), conditions are expected to be firm and dry.
Due to the scale and temporary nature of the event, it is not planned to install trackway or matting across the site. However, key areas including the entrance, viewing area, and accessible toilet will be located to minimise travel distances and improve ease of access. Attendees who use wheelchairs or mobility aids are encouraged to contact us in advance to discuss individual requirements.
Parking and Arrival
Accessible (Blue Badge) parking will be provided on the playing field close to the public entrance, with marshals available to direct vehicles. Additional accessible parking is available on hard-standing areas at the front of the school.
Viewing Provision
A designated accessible viewing area will be located close to the stage, with space for wheelchair users and their companions. (Seating for companions will not be provided and they should bring suitable seats in line with other ticket holders) This area will be positioned to provide clear sightlines and will be managed to ensure safe and equitable access.
Sanitary Facilities
An accessible toilet suitable for wheelchair users will be provided adjacent to the designated viewing area.
Ticketing and Companion Policy
Essential companions/carers will be offered complimentary tickets upon submission of appropriate supporting documentation (e.g. Access Card or equivalent evidence). Requests should be made in advance via the contact details below.
Communication and Support
Accessibility information will be published in advance of the event. Attendees are encouraged to contact us at musicfestival2026@seafordrotary.org.uk with any specific access requirements so that reasonable adjustments can be considered where practicable Please include your name, contact telephone number, email address, and postal address when making enquiries or requesting companion tickets.
Staffing and Stewarding
Event stewards and volunteers will be briefed to support accessible routes, assist attendees where appropriate, and respond to access-related queries.
Emergency Planning
Emergency procedures will take into account the needs of disabled attendees, including accessible egress routes and steward assistance where required.
The organisers will continue to review accessibility arrangements and will seek to make reasonable adjustments in line with the nature and scale of the event.
