On Saturday 18 July, Seaford Rotary will host the Seaford Community Music Festival at the Seaford Head School Playing Fields. Gates open to the public at 2.30pm and the music at this ticketed, open-air family event will run from 3.30pm until 10.00pm, culminating in a low-noise fireworks display alongside the evening’s finale.
The festival will showcase a wide range of local musical talent with around 350 performers taking part throughout the afternoon and evening, including winners of the Rotary Young Musician Competition, a massed choir from five local primary schools, and a number of accomplished local performers. Subject to confirmation, we also hope to welcome artists associated with Glyndebourne, English National Opera and the Royal Opera House. With picnics encouraged, quality food vendors on site and local musician Jonny Lewis acting as compère, the event is designed to be relaxed, inclusive and well attended — a genuine celebration of Seaford’s vibrant cultural life.
The festival has two clear objectives:
• To showcase and celebrate Seaford’s musical talent
• To raise funds for the Seaford Rotary Charitable Trust, which last year supported more than 50 local organisations and charitable causes
