Twenty seven teams in a field of over 100 people from local clubs, businesses and parents with their children and grandchildren set out on the beachside journey from Splash Point to the Newhaven and Seaford Sailing Club - and back again. Wheelchairs and Trikes for the disabled also featured.
All were given the option of wearing fancy dress - and a surprising number of them did just that, providing a regular burst of colour along the route which was estimated at just under three and a half miles.
The big bonus was that in the middle of a damp, rainy weekend, glorious sun rays shone down on the afternoon of the Rainbow Walk, so much so that several of the 'contestants' arrived back at Splash Point admitting their athletic capability was fully extended by the conditions!
The field included entries from Seaford Town Council (Colourful Councillors), The Youth Counselling Project, Cycling Without Age,WOLO Foundation, Denton Island Bowls Club, Guardswell Cleaning and Seaford Town Crier Peter White in his full regalia and bell alongside members of Seaford Inner Wheel Ladies.
Mayor of Seaford Rodney Reed whose deputy Jean Cash headed ther Rotary organising team, said: "It was a wonderful event with a great party atmosphere. They tell me it will be biggera and even better next year."
