Italian market returns
2nd March 2019
THE unseasonably warm weather of the previous week retreated as the on 2nd March, the ‘Italia in Piazza’ food market returned to erect their stalls in Sutton Road.
Seaford Rotary Club made all the necessary local arrangements for the Italian market with Rotarians out early to close Sutton Road between Broad Street and Warwick Road to traffic to enable the market stalls to be set up, and at the end of the day they removed the traffic barriers to let vehicles use Sutton Road again.
Stalls were set up along the road, and soon various types of Italian specialities including spaghetti, cakes, olive oils, cheeses and hams were displayed on the stalls for sale.
The Town Crier, Peter White could be heard extoling the virtues of the market during the morning.
The next continental market will be a French Market in Church Street, Seaford on Friday 17th May.
The Italian market should return to Seaford on 13th July.

Seaford welcomes back Santa on his Christmas Sleigh
more Following the cancellation of his visit last year, Santa and his elves visited Seaford before Christmas. During seventeen December evenings, he travelled around streets in Seaford and visited Broad Street on three Saturday mornings and Christmas Eve.

more INCLEMENT WEATHER is not a friend of street markets, and so although the air was dry when the French market arrived early in the morning of Friday 20th May, it was not long before the heavens opened to wash a successful day of trading down Church Street.

Experimental Silent Auction
