'Four Jays' take Rotary quiz title!

On Saturday 21st September 2019, over 75 enthusiastic quizzers took part in this year’s Leatherhead Rotary Charity Quiz Night to raise money to help develop the bee-keeping industry in Liberia.

On Saturday 21st September 2019, over 75 enthusiastic quizzers took part in this year’s Leatherhead Rotary Charity Quiz Night at St Mary’s Church Hall in Fetcham.

After eight challenging rounds of ten questions each, on subjects ranging from ‘General Knowledge’ and ‘Current Affairs’ to ‘Food & Drink’ and ‘The Human Body’, together with a special 20-point ‘Famous Faces’ picture round, 'The Four Jays’ emerged triumphant out of the eleven teams taking part, with an impressive score of 83.5 points out of a possible 100, narrowly beating 'The Hilldells’ and ‘Poppy’s People’ into second and third place, with 80 points and 79 points respectively. ‘The Hotshots’ picked up the booby prize for coming last, albeit with a still very respectable score of 56 points.

As well as the quiz itself, everyone present also enjoyed a hot lasagne supper with cakes for dessert, and a raffle helped to raise over £1,000 for the Universal Outreach Foundation’s Liberian Beekeeping Project, one of the international charities being supported by the club during the current Rotary year – for further information, please visit www.universaloutreachfoundation.org.
