What we do

We work on local community projects and have a major commitment to an educational project in Zanzibar set up by 2 of our members

Zanzibar teachers

We focus on projects that we understand in depth – these include local community initiatives such as the Worthing Food Bank and international projects, specifically Zanzibar Schools Project in Tanzania, which two of our members set up and Children's Garden Home in Kenya. We are environmentally conscious and run an annual coat recycling project to redistribute warm and waterproof clothes to the local homeless. We also collect toys and children’s clothes in good condition for local charities.

We like to volunteer on projects where we can offer our expertise such as Drowning Prevention Week, Brighton and Sussex Medical School and Hove Park School. And we support Rotary’s international projects such as Stop Polio Now and host a Japanese student who is one of the Rotary International Scholars at the Department of International Development at Sussex University. We raise funds through social events, Sussex Mermaid School and art sales.

We like to support other charitable organisations through fund-raising, donating money, helping with our time and expertise. We like to help other Rotary Clubs in our area and also overseas.
