100 Years of Rotary Foundation
Well Done Norman for organising such a splendid function to celebrate 100 years of Rotary Foundation. Afternoon Tea at Orsett Hall on Sunday 5th. March was a roaring success. The whole atmosphere was just so right with good food and wonderful music which was provided by our good friends Susie and Keith. The music during the meal was just right and afterwards Keith got us all singing with his selection of Elvis songs. His rendition of The Wonder of You was so good that Terry Smith could not help himself from leading us all with his OOH OOH OOH OOHs (mostly in tune). I personally voted him the best OOer in the room. The raffle was a big success and President John added to the fun by presenting the club with a bottle of Crystal Champagne. Norman had a special raffle for this together with a bottle of vintage Port and guests were invited to write their name on a ten pound note. Guess who won? No, sadly not me, but the President who sportingly declined to take the prize and asked for it to be re-drawn and this time it was won by Norman's mum Renee. The proceeds of these two raffles which raised several hundred pounds will go to the Foundation's Charity Purple 4 Polio. It was nice to see some of our future satellite club members and their families at the tea party. All in all a good time was had by everyone present.
Once again Norman well done (the music was a stroke of genius!)
