Speaker meeting 25th July 2013 June Milne
and the subject was
My Incredible Journey- What a Privilege.
June is a member of the Inner Wheel Club of Bishops Stortford and is a resident of Dunmow in Essex where her husband ,a fellow Rotarian, has just been elected as Mayor of that town.
June's talk was about how she became an Aid Worker and she related the emotional and exciting first journey to the Ukraine where since 1996 the Felsted Aid for Deprived Children has been providing assistance and humanitarian aid for the children who have been affected by the Chernobyl nuclear power disaster in 1986.
What an incredibly brave thing to do,driving a 3 ton van and towing a 2 ton trailer packed with all kinds of gifts,to the Ukraine, when she thought she was only going as an observer.
You will love the talk and it illustrates how fortunate the world and those suffering are to have unpaid volunteers to do such wonderful work.
