"We now have the results of the
Poster Competition.
There were over 3,800 entries from schools as far apart as Cornwall and the Isle of Mull in the Scottish Highlands. The standard of entry was quite outstanding and the independent judges had a very difficult task in selecting the top 3 entries and choosing the highly commended to be included in the total of 22 posters which will be displayed at COP26.
We can let you know that the top entry came from West Yorkshire, the second from Aberdeenshire and the third from Buckinghamshire. ‘Highly Commended’ entries will be on display at COP26.
We have tried to ensure that the children’s messages are conveyed to as many delegates as possible and we have arranged poster displays at:
1. The preceding Conference of the Youth (COY16) being held at Strathclyde University
2. The Glasgow City Chambers
3. The main delegate hotels: The Hilton, The Marriott and the Crown Plaza
4. Glasgow Airport departure area
5. Our own local Civic Centre
6. The Commonwealth area at COP26
A huge thank you to all the children who submitted posters. A lot of great artwork and thought provoking ideas."
