School library built in three days:
Douglas Innes treated Prestwick Rotarians to a very interesting illustrated talk on his charity project 'hooked on books' centred in The Philippines. Thousands of books were collected by Rotakids, and other primary school children, from Symington School, and shipped to a Philippino rural school, which had no library.
With the help of local artists, teachers and pupils, a library was created in three days. Without the formation of Rotakids in Symington by Prestwick Rotary Club, this project could not have happened. We are all delighted at the outcome, and Douglas Innes is to be congratulated for all his hard work, ably supported throughout by his wife Jean.
