Symington Rotakids make Ugandan links
Symington Rotakids is a mini
version of The Rotary Club of Prestwick. The new Symington Rotakids pupil
committee has been formed at Symington Primary School and is planning its
projects for 2018-19. They are looking at a liaison project with Ugandan
schoolchildren.
Pass it On Uganda is a registered non-profit organisation Its aim is to promote
education, and social entrepreneurship skills among children, young women and
the youth of Uganda. It wants to be a catalyst of change, to fight against
early and forced child marriage, and to efficiently promote social and economic
development.
Hellen Ziribagwa, from Uganda, is the founder of Pass it On Uganda which is
chaired by local
Prestwick resident Jean Inness. Symington Primary School Rotakids were able to
hear first hand the educational needs of children in Uganda and discuss how
they could assist.
