Information about Rotary Clubs & what they do.

Locally, Kilmarnock Rotary is a friendly group of men and women who meet weekly in the Park Hotel for a meal, listen to an inspiring speaker and discuss future activities whether they be helping the community or perhaps our next social event. 

During the last few years we have been active in:-

• Helping our Youngsters by assisting reading at Onthank Primary School; organising a Primary Schools Quiz for all the local Primaries; sponsoring students to attend the European Parliament and International Youth Rallies; arranging Young Chef, Young Musician and Young Photographer competitions; sponsoring students to attend Youth Leadership courses.
• Helping our Community by raising funds for Combat Stress, CentreStage, Hansel Village and we have a Community Support Fund which we use to donate small sums to local deserving causes. We also gather food weekly to donate to Ayrshire East Foodbank. 
• Helping our National Community by raising funds for Diabetes UK, Prostate Cancer, Motor Neurone (MND Scotland) and many others.
• Helping Internationally by supporting and raising funds for disaster related charities such as Shelterbox, Aquabox, Medecin sans Frontieres. We have also raised funds for Mary's Meals and the Wheelchair Foundation.

We mentioned the Social side earlier and in addition to our weekly meetings we arrange visits to places of interest, e.g., the new Kilmarnock Campus of Ayrshire College, the new Wm. McIlvanney Campus that comprises Kilmarnock Academy and James Hamilton Primary School, the House of an Art Lover, etc. We have an annual Burns Supper and often explore local restaurants. We also have an annual Social Weekend and, for this, have visited Warsaw, Berlin, Lisbon and Versailles in the past four years.

We acknowledge that people may not want to make an immediate committment to join us so we offer an Associate Membership to allow you to ‘dip your toe in the water’ so to speak and get to know us.
