On Thursday 20th March West Kilbride hosted the Hunterston Rotary’s annual Primary Schools Quiz. This turned out to be a record event with P6 and P7 pupils from eleven schools taking part. Competing were Caledonia, Dykesmains, Largs, Mayfield, Stanley, St Anthony’s, St John’s, St Mary’s St Peter’s, West Kilbride and Winton.
After ten rounds of six questions Largs Primary emerged as the winners, St Peters took second place, West Kilbride third and Dykesmains fourth.
The first three team will now go forward to compete in the Area final next month, venue still to be arranged. The winners of the area final will then go on the Scotland South District final which will take place on 17th May 2025. Once again, venue to be advised.
Club secretary and quizmaster on the day, Alex Blair, congratulated all the pupils for their enthusiasm and participation. He also contacted the schools after the event to say that all those who took part were a credit to their schools.
