Nov Community Award

Hunterston Rotary supports the Ardrossan Christmas Lights Group.

At last week’s meeting of Hunterston Rotary, Community Grants officer, Jim Jackson, was delighted to present our November award to Nathan Payne and Ami McCabe, two of a small number of volunteers, striving to spread Christmas Cheer and light up the town for the month of December.

Sadly, this is the third grant to local groups who are raising funds to provide Christmas Lights following North Ayrshire Council’s withdrawal of funding. Community grants have already been made in West Kilbride and Saltcoats, and the members have a agreed to give the December Grant to Stevenston’s volunteer group.

Laura Jayne Reid, speaking on behalf of the group, said “We will have our big switch on event on Friday 29th of November, featuring a parade, Christmas Craft stalls, Santa's Grotto and live performances. We welcome all of Ardrossan and surrounding areas to join in some festive fun!”
