Hunterston Rotary Community Quiz

On Friday 25th Oct 15 teams gathered in the Lauriston Hotel to compete for the much sought after Hunterston Rotary Community Quiz Trophy.

After six rounds of questions from quizmaster Jim Jackson, two teams ended up tied on 52 points. After a round of tie break questions local quizzers, Matts Muppets, emerged the overall winners, narrowly defeating the Kilmarnock Rotary club team, “Killie Krankies“.

In third place were the “Prestwick Pioneers” (Prestwick Rotary club), one point ahead of Greenock Rotary. Before the tie break, only four points separated the top four teams.

The President Norman and the members of Hunterston Rotary would like to thank all who took part and, all who donated prizes for the very well supported raffle. The evening resulted in a substantial amount being raised for our “Community Grant Scheme”.

Also, many thanks to the Lauriston Hotel and staff for a most enjoyable buffet which contributed to a fun night enjoyed by all.
