President Derek Hall welcomed eleven other members to the club's first meeting at the Royal Northern and Clyde Yacht Club at Rhu since February 2020.
President-elect Reay Mackay reported that building work on the Malawi project had continued throughout the pandemic, and said that the Helensburgh Classroom was now in use.
He also told of his adventures in the Irish Sea at the weekend when bringing north a 36 ft boat he had bought on the Isle of Man. He had to put out a Mayday call because of a propellor shaft problem which resulted in water coming into the boat. The Stranraer lifeboat came to the rescue, and towed them to land. Repairs will now be made.
It was agreed to try to hold a Wine Tasting and a Bridge Evening in the Spring, and the idea of resurrecting the cancelled club group trip to Croatia will be looked into.
The Yacht Club has raised the lunch cost to £13, and it was agreed to make the weekly payment £15, with £2 going to the club's charitable funds.
The weekly raffle was won by Graham Smith, and the meeting ended with the long-delayed presentation of a Past President's Jewel to past president Douglas Dow.
